Hello All - please read all
We had several swimmers who commited to the Shaker meet not show on Thursday July 11th. If you commit please contact me by email only in advance if you can't attend. There is a lot of work that goes into making a meet line up. If your swimmer doesn't show it takes away swims from swimmers who actually showed up for the meet.

You can view the meets your registered for on the "Summer League Page" of the team website. You may still register for the last two Thursday meets but you must register ASAP by using the online meet commitment form on the "Summer League Page". http://www.beachwoodbisonswimclub.com/Summer_League_Team.html

If the meet is cancelled due to weather I will email you as soon as the host team makes the decision. Please do not TEXT me as a form of contact. You may email me as it goes to my phone and my receiving texts has been random.

The next two meets July 18th and July 25th are both outdoors and your swimmers need to be at the pool at 5:45pm. Please be prepared for the weather.
Both meets are at 14260 Cedar Rd. Directions from our pool, East on Fairmount, turn right onto Green Rd, left onto Cedar Rd, left into Purvis Park on Wrenford Rd.
The meet on July 18th is a dual meet as the others and the 25th is a relay meet called the Candy Relays to finish our season.

I am excited and encourage about the number of swimmers at the meets and the obvious improvement in the team from last year! Let's keep it going!

You should have either registered for fall or have received an email. Please take a look at the registration page and contact Brad with any questions.
There is an Intro to Swim Team class offered starting Aug 27th with Session 9 lessons that would be a great warm up for Swim Team for our new swimmers and club swimmers in Levels 1 and 2. Club swimming begins the week of Sept 23rd.

SUPER SESSION - Intro to Swim Team
Deadline is Aug 23.
Coached by Amy Bush & Michelle Gallo, our Level 1 Team Coaches. Contact Brad.

1. This time of year the practices taper off in length as we prepare those who are swimming in Champs. WE WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE KEVIN YU AND SANFORD HONG!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Beachwood swimmers Kevin Yu and Sanford Hong have been named Beachwood Bison Athletes of the Week for the week of January 21, 2013.

Yu, an eighth grader, won the 50-yard butterfly (29.26) and 50-yard backstroke (30.86) and also swam on two winning relays in Tuesday’s meet in a 309-211 win over Westlake. He carries a 4.0 grade point average and has been a member of the Beachwood Swim Club for three years.

“He is a leader in his commitment and work ethic alone,” said Beachwood swim coach Brad Burget.

It’s that commitment to the sport that has allowed Yu to steadily improve.

“Kevin’s always been a pretty good swimmer,” Burget said. “He’s always been someone who has been committed and ready to work.”

Yu plays the violin and performs the National Anthem at all high school and middle school meets.

Hong, an eighth grader, also won his individual events, the 50-yard freestyle (27.30) and 50-yard breaststroke (33.64), and was part of two winning relay teams in the win over Westlake.

“Sanford has been our most improved swimmer over his past two years with the Beachwood Bison Swim Club and also is a leader in his commitment and work ethic,” Burget said. “He’s come a long way. Three years ago we were actually teaching him how to swim.”

Hong, also versed in playing the violin, has joined Yu in several pre-game anthem performances.

Yu and Hong were part of the 200-yard medley relay team and the 400-yard freestyle relay team. The 200 relay team finished with a meet-best time of 2:07.04 and the 400 squad finished first with a time of 4:15.95.
