A couple of announcements:
-Invoices for escrow have been sent. If you have received an escrow invoice, there is a negative balance on your account. Please submit payment in order to continue participating in meets. We will be sending out escrow account balances for the rest of the team shortly. If you have any questions, please let me know.
-Please submit payment for the December 15th invoices. If you have any questions, please let us know.
- Entries for the STARS swim your own age meet are due TODAY. If you are interested in signing your swimmer up, please send an email. Your swimmer will not be entered if there is a negative escrow balance.

Hello Everyone!
Some weekly information:
-Please check the calendar regularly. In hopes to increase Sunday attendance, Practice times have been changed and will start THIS Sunday, October 23 . Please Click here for the practice schedule.
- The team fitting is next Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 5-7 pm. Kast-A-Way Swimwear will be running the fitting and parents will be able to at least order fins if not purchase them at the pool. Fins are strongly recommended by the coaching staff for levels 1-4.
- Please submit payment for the October 15th billing schedule. Please let us know if you have any questions about your balance.

Hello Everyone,
Just a reminder to please submit your meet commitment forms by Saturday, October 15, 2011. The Swimstrong meet entries are due soon, so if you want your swimmer competing in the first meet, this needs to be done Saturday. Escrow accounts need to be positive in order for your swimmer to attend the meets.
Also, October 15th bills are due as well. If you have any questions about your balance, please let me know. All families need to pay $50 to Beachwood City Schools, and each individual swimmer is required to have the $56 USA insurance. If you are unsure if you have submitted payment for these, please email me and I will help you out.

Hello Everyone!
We hope everyone is enjoying the season so far! We have a few updates/ reminders for you.
- The team fitting scheduled for October 9th has been moved to October 25th. The time has yet to be announced, we will let you know once the fitting is closer.
- Please remember to submit the meet commitment form online. October 15, 2011 is the firm deadline. If you do not submit a form, your swimmers will not be able to compete in meets this year. If you have any questions, please let us know. Submit Meet Commitment form now.
- If you have enrolled in payment plan B, the October 15th bills will be emailed out shortly. Please submit payment at your earliest convenience.
- It is strongly suggested that all swimmers in levels 1-4 purchase rubber-ended fins for the swim season. You may purchase them online at http://www.swimoutlet.com/Swim_Fins_s/329.htm . We suggest the rubber-ended fins for comfort and safety. The fins with plastic ends tend to hurt other swimmers in accidents. You may also purchase them through Kast-A-Way Swimwear. (I have attached a picture of the rubber-ended fins for clarification.)

Hello All & Welcome back!
There is a team fitting Sept 19th and 20th 330-730pm in the High School Pool
Lobby. The racing suits, caps and shirts are the same for the club and school
teams. We have already a number of logo'd suits available. .
There will be a parents meeting for club groups at 530pm on the 19th and the 20th.
Please attend the day your swimmer has practice.
The meeting will be a conducted as an open question forum as Brad has
spoken with 95% of the families in person.
At the team fitting, there will also be a folder for each family with any paperwork that needs to be completed. It is important that these forms are filled out entirely.
** If your family has not paid the $50 pool membership fee, please bring your check Monday or Tuesday made out to Beachwood City Schools.
(This check will be submitted to the schools via the club)
**If your swimmer(s) are planning on attending any meets, an escrow deposit and your USA fees need to be made. The meet commitment form is on the website, and needs to be completed by October 15th to ensure entry in meets. These checks are made out to Beachwood Bison Swim Club.

Some information regarding the next few weeks:
All lockers in the girls and boys locker rooms will be cleaned out June 10th. Please remove all items and locks from the lockers. Locks will be cut June 10th if lockers are not cleaned out. Please plan accordingly.
TEAM FITTING! There will be a team fitting June 13th from 4:30- around 7:00 in the lobby of the HS Natatorium. (Where we practice!) This team fitting is for the club team AND the summer league team. You may order your suits, apparel, caps and goggles at the fitting.
Attached to the email are the meet entries for the CCS meet this weekend. Please keep in mind that only levels 4 and up are able to compete at the meet. The entries are also updated on the website.he Westlake Meet results have also been added to the website.

Hello Everyone!
Just a reminder that the meet commitment form is due by Friday, April 29, 2011 for all swim meets.
Our first meet is next Friday, May 6th against Westlake. We have less than 20 swimmers (out of 80) signed up for this meet. We need at least half of the team to compete at the meet in order for the meet to occur. (The meet will be cancelled if we do not have enough swimmers compete.) We are also short volunteers at the moment. The meet will be short, fun and will conclude with a big pizza party! =] This is a great first meet for the swimmers. It is very relaxed and the swimmers can get a feel for how the bigger meets are run. We would love showcase all of the Beachwood Bison Swim Club.
Some information about the meet commitment form for Levels 1-3: This summer, we are encouraging all swimmers in levels 1-3 to swim with the Beachwood Summer League Team outdoors! We would like levels 1-3 to compete at the May 6th meet against Westlake only. Then we would like the swimmers to continue swimming across the street with coaches John and Karli on the summer league team. The practices will be structured around the same schedule as last year; evening practices from 4:00-7:00 (depending on the swimmer’s level). The information for the summer team can be found in the Beachwood Recreation Book, or you may call the Recreation Department for more information. We would love to see everyone this summer!

We hope everyone had a nice spring break!
Some information regarding the spring season. The Spring/Summer Meet schedule has been posted on the website. Please take a look at the schedule and plan accordingly. Most of the meet information has not yet been released. That will be posted as it is released. All commitments are due APRIL 30th.
The first meet we are having is a dual meet with Westlake. We will be holding the meet at our own pool. This meet is a TEAM meet, and is sanctioned so the the events they swim count towards any other meet. We are in need of 15-20 volunteers for this meet to take place. This is imperative in order for the meet to run smoothly.The meet information is posted below:

Starting Times: Warm-ups will be at 4:30 p.m. with a 6:00p.m. meet start. The meet is estimated to end around 8:30 with a pizza party with Westlake afterwards.

Entry Limitations: Each swimmer can swim up to 3 Individual Entries and possible relays. The coaches will choose the swimmer's events.

Spring Stroke Clinics
We will have small stroke clinics on Sunday’s for 45 minutes for the following Sundays. We need a minimum of 3 to hold each clinic with a maximum of 5 allowed. Indicate which Sunday Stroke and Time.
Cost: $30 per clinic, check made out to Beachwood Bison Swim Club.
Team fees must be paid prior to signing up for stroke clinics.

A few reminders for this week:
-This is the last week that has a Wednesday practice option for levels 1 and 2.
- Sunday practices will start up again and continue until late February.
We have had some issues with the swimmers in the locker rooms. Parents are responsible for their children in the locker rooms. Please wait outside the locker room doors so that we can maintain everyone's safety. Thanks.
Swim Meets:
If you plan on entering your child in the Bronze Qualifier, please email your confirmation as soon as you can. We have pushed the deadline back until Friday, January 21st at 8pm.
When attending swim meets, it is imperative to be on time. Every swim meet has positive check-in. At a certain time, the check-in sheets are taken down. If you are not on time and do not check-in, you will be scratched from the meet. The meet officials at the New Years Stretch Meet during the girls session kindly let our swimmers compete, but we cannot count on them doing this every time. Please be advised of the warm-up times, and arrive 15 minutes prior to the warm up.
**There are many families that have a low escrow account balance. If your name is listed below, you will need to make a deposit to your escrow account to cover the Championship meets. If you would like to know you're balance, let me know and I'll email you as soon as I can. It is recommended to deposit $30.00 per swim meet, and the accounts are updated through the 8&U Championship meet. If you have any questions, let us know.

Warm-up Times:
To ensure the safety of all swimmers, Saturday’s warm up session have been split by age group! Warm Up times are as follows
Saturday morning warm-ups begin at 7:30:
7:30-8:00 warm-ups for 9 and 10 year olds only
8:00-8:30 warm-ups for 8 and under only
Saturday afternoon warm-ups will not begin before 12:15pm First ½ hour warm ups for 11-12 year olds only Last ½ hour warm ups for 13 & Over only
Sunday morning warm-ups begin at 7:30:

Deck entries will be taken at all sessions, but the Saturday morning session has limited space left.
LOCATION: Rocky River High School, 20951 Detroit Road, Rocky River, OH 44116. Corner of Wagar and Detroit Roads.
DIRECTIONS: I-90 west to Hilliard Boulevard exit. At end of ramp, turn right onto Westway Drive. Turn right onto Wagar Road. Turn right into school parking lot immediately past freeway overpass.
POOL: 25 yards by 6 lanes. Colorado electronic timing and scoreboard. Locker rooms, food and swimwear concessions and free parking.
Please have the swimmers on deck and ready to go 15 minutes prior to warm-ups to ensure that your swimmer is checked in and will be able to compete in the meet. It is also advised that the swimmers have warm clothes, water and a few snacks.

A couple of announcements:
Please be advised there is no practice tomorrow, January 4th, due to the high school swim meet. We have added an additional practice Wednesday, January 5th for levels 1 and 2. Please keep track of the calendar online on a regular basis.
The warm-up times for the New Year Stretch meet this weekend have not been posted yet, they should be posted no sooner than Wednesday, January 5th. We will be sure to send out an e-mail with additional information.
Parents of children 8 & Under:
There has been an extension to the 8 & Under Championships meet commitment deadline until 7 pm Friday, January 7th. It is strongly suggested that all swimmers age 8 and under attend this meet, as it is their final Championship meet of the season. The meet information is on the website. Please email me if you are interested in signing your child up.

Hello Everyone,
We had some great swims at the Shaker Shark Invitational. Great job to all the swimmers who participated. The results from the Shaker Invitational have been posted on the website as well as the entries for the New Years Stretch meet.
A few weekly reminders:
Wednesday, Levels 3 &4 have practice at 6:30-7:30 due to a swim meet. There is no practice for levels 1 & 2.
Please remember that the team fees are due December 15th. Two-thirds of the total payment should be paid by this date. If you have any questions about your bill, feel free to ask.
The next meet deadline is this Wednesday, December 8th for the Jim Scullion Age group showdown January 15-16. Qualifying times need to be met per swimmer in order to enter your swimmer in the swim meet. The qualifying times are online on the meet schedule page.

As promised, we have the information for the Shaker Shark Invitational. Please bring snacks and warm clothes to the meet for your swimmers, parents will not be permitted on the pool deck.
On Saturday, there are finals in the evening. In order for your child to compete in finals, they have to come in 1st-24th place out of the whole event in their prelim swim. (Based on meet information, total number of swimmers returning is yet to be determined.) The finals will take place for all ages. We will let your swimmer know if they have returned to finals for the evening.
The warm-up times for the swim meet are as follows:

Swimmers: Plan to arrive at the meet 15 minutes before the start of warm-ups. Warm-up times are posted. Please check in with one of the coaches when you arrive. Many swimmers will be involved with relays for this meet. Please plan to stay and swim in a relay. The coaches will let you know if you are in a relay at the meet.
Swimmers who qualify for finals are expected to swim in finals. Finals will take place for 10 and unders, 11 – 12, and 13 and over swimmers on Saturday evening.

We would like to remind you that this week there are a couple of practice time changes due to swim meets. Please check the website for the updated practice times. We appreciate you're cooperation.
The warm up times and the psych sheet for the Shaker Shark Invitational will be posted by Lake Erie Swimming on December 1st. Only kids previously entered into the swim meet may attend. The next meet that you may sign up for is the New Years Stretch meet on January 8th, 9th. The deadline for the entries is December 1st. This meet is highly recommended for the swimmers. It will allow them to get times in events so we can later enter them into Championships meets. In order to enter your swimmer in a swim meet, a positive escrow account is required as well as a completed meet commitment form.

November 18th, November 22nd, November 23rd and November 30th

The pool will be closed November 24-27 due to Thanksgiving and there will be no practices available. It is strongly suggested that the swimmers attend practice on Monday, November 22, Tuesday, November 23 before the pool closing and Sunday, November 28 after the pool closing.
There will be a parent's meeting on Monday, November 29th at 7:15 PM. This meeting will serve as a way that we can answer any questions you have, and also to help explain the meet process. Please RSVP via email and include questions that you have in advance. This will help the meeting run smoothly and it will also take up less of your time.

per week for several weeks and practice times are shifted. This past Tuesday
we had 15 swimmers 30 minutes early than the posted practice time.

Hello All
We are having a meet run through process Monday Nov 8th at 6pm. If you are attending ANY meets please have your swimmers at practice at least 10 minutes in advance as we will begin in the water promptly at 6pm. We will be timing swimmers in all four strokes and only have an hour to complete. I COULD USE 8 PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO HELP TIME at 5:55pm! IF YOU ARE A PARENT WITH A SWIMMER ON THE MIDDLE SCHOOL OR HIGH SCHOOL TEAM I NEED A PARENT VOLUNTEER THAT COULD TRAIN WITH THE MEET AND TEAM MANAGER SOFTWARE. THIS ACTUALLY RUNS THE MEET. I WOULD NEED YOU TO BE AT THE POOL 315 – 7PMish on Monday….
I really need all of you to understand the meet sign up process. I have to set our team deadlines WELL in advance TO THE ACTUAL MEET DATE since it takes time to actually complete the entry process. I then have to submit the entries on a set date by the meet host. Entries have to be on time or we can and already have been closed out of a meet. Please look at the whole season. All swimmers qualify for the first level of Championships in Feb “Bronze meet”. Swimmers qualify to the other levels by times achieved.

Please read all of the email.
There will be no practice for any group this Sunday Oct 17th due to older swimmers swim meet. Starting Sunday Oct 24th the level 1,2 Sunday practice will shift to 230-330pm for the rest of the season. When there is a scheduled meet please remember that we will not have Sunday practices. This is all on the practice calendar. Please check it often for changes.
We had a great turn out for the team fitting Friday. If you missed it please print the order form from the apparel link for your order. You will need a NIKE team suit to compete. I will order team caps and hopefully have them for the first meet. Caps might cost $5 each. If you have any questions about team apparel please ask Karli before or after practice.
The first recommended team meet is the Nov 6-7 at Strongsville. Team deadline is Oct 17th for this meet. You must print the meet commitment form from the meet page, fill out an sign. You need to have a positive escrow amount to be entered. I can’t waiver from the team deadline as I will need to compile entries and submit on time. Please read thru the meet schedule for other meets. Our swimmers will all be entered with “no times” since this is our first team meet. They will be in the first heats of this meet.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 8TH 5-7PM WE ARE HAVING A TEAM FITTING at the pool! Team suits, caps, goggles, warm ups, shirts etc will be available to order and purchase. We are a NIKE swim team so remember a NIKE suit is needed to compete at meets. See you next Friday!
Friday Oct 8th is also the team deadline for the Nov 19-21st swim meet. See below. This is not our first team meet but this meet has a really early deadline for entries. This meet has qualifying times and most likely will not apply to the younger levels.
Nov 6-7th meet is strongly recommended as our first team meet!!!!!

The practice and meet schedule is posted for the whole winter season so please visit the website. I will keep the calendar current. Starting in November practices shift a bit due to High School and Middle School meets.
We are constantly evaluating the swimmers and adjusting the training groups. Starting week 3 Level 1 will swim 1 hour, Level 2 will swim 1 hour and 10 minutes, level 3 1 hour and 20 minutes and level 4 1.5 hours. Levels 5 and 6 are as noted on website.
MEET SIGN UP:
1. YOU WILL NEED TO PRINT AND TURN IN THE ATTACHED FORM. This is your meet commitment form. Please check off the meets you will be attending and the days you can attend. The coaches will choose the events.
2. I will need this form turned in and a positive balance in your escrow account before our team deadline. Team deadlines are prior to meet deadlines so our entries can be compiled. Once I submit entries you can’t get into the meet. Deadlines will typically be one month prior to the meet.
3. This is very important, for example the meet Nov 19-21st has a meet deadline of October 11th so I will need your meet page and escrow money by the team fitting. This meet applies to mainly Level 5 and above.
4. The meet information page of the website will have meet information posted as soon as we receive it. Not all meets are for all abilities and I will let you know if you have signed up for a meet that isn’t appropriate. We will post our team deadlines for the other meet very soon.
